Yow!

Brand-new tunes have taken over New Mexico again. 16 tracks out of our top-20 are newcomers in December; at least here in the land of enchantment. While Gyptian, QQ and Perfect have been mashing up reggae-charts, dances and stage-shows for quite a while now in 2005, their selections on Frenz' SPIRITUAL WAR riddim have just now become available in NM and have risen nearly straight to the top already. The same is the case with Trinidad's Marlon Asher. "Ganja Farmer" has been one of the HUGEST reggae hits of the entire year so far, yet we just managed to secure a clean copy of the vinyl a few weeks ago. Wicked ear-worm of a tune and the whole a we constantly humming:"Big stinkin helicopta flow thru di air, weh dem call it? weed-eater! Dem never did there when me wa totin water or when me did applying fertilizer.Yet outta dem sky dem a spittin fire & I'm a likkle yute man wid a hot temper. Mi dig up mi stinkin rocket-launcher and ina di air dispense the helicopter!" SERIOUS !!!

Literally brand-new & pre-released is our current #1 though: Bounty Killer & Bunny Rugs' "Down In The Ghetto" on a re-make of Sly & Robbies BAM BAM riddim. The vibes is simply HUGE and no-one can do wrong on this music. I also like the trend of Taxi featuring a whole heap-a-newcomers (like Chaka Chaks, Mitch, Baby E & Justice), which continues here. Vintage crooner & Jimmy Riley teams up with his son Taurus on "Stronger", sexy Sasha links up with Justice on back to "Body Basic" and Future Troubles is reaching out to
the "Gal From Puerto Rico".

Massive B's BANG BANG charts in the form of TOK and Elephant Man, Rich House's CONCUBINE makes it due to the doctor's yard version of the "Whisper Song", while Shaggy & G-Unit's Olivia climb up to the #10 spot. Katrina"Sunshine"Irons has released her second beat. Its called JUSTICE and was created by Don Corleon and Nigel Staff; usually one dynamite production-team. No different here: the JUSTICE is a vast improvement over Yellow Moon's first release (SUNBLOCK) and Kartel & Marshall ("to the WAYNE!") use the hype to their advantage on the title-track, which has risen to #6. Further excellent entries from Ele & the prophet Capleton on the project are at #'s 19 & 20: good job!

Last month's top-a-top DR.EVIL, which I have discovered is not just Leftside but the full-on Leftside & Escobar tag-team, has dropped down to #13, while a number of the excellent tracks on the ICE CUBE riddim are just bubbling under. The hottest 2 tunes on the THROW BACK GIGGY managed to re-enter our
charts, courtesy of Leftside & Esco (again) and the gargamel Buju Banton, while (probably) the hottest dancehall track of the entire year has finally reached our areas as well; Elephant Man paying tribute to Black Roses leaders Willie Haggart & Paul Bogle; both of whom were murdered in the past years, on the "Willie Bounce".

Full top-50 chart for the entire year 2005 will be up soon.

Til next year; keep the fire blazin'
