New tunes have taken over the NM Reggae Dancehall Charts for the month of May. Led by Dave Kelly's follow-up to the highly successful FIESTA, the PRETTY PRETTY has conquered the top spot as well as #5 in the shape of combinations featuring new singer Jimmy Cheesetrix alongside Baby Cham and Beenie Man. Other new entries include Capleton and Zumjay on Alozade's CHROME riddim as well as Bounty plus Rik Rok on the TIAJUANA.

New tunes have also surfaced on Germaica's DOCTORS DARLING, (courtesy of Mr.Pionear himself!) from Luciano, Turbulence and General Degree, who counteracts Tanya Stephen's "Its A Pity" (rudebwoy yuh already have a wife) with "It No Matter". 2 Miles' WHO CARES is still kickin strong in the wild west, with Natty King's extra-conscious "Dont Bring Your Guns To Town" climbing all the way to #4 and Capleton's message to the weakhearts "I See Them Quaking" entering the chart @ #17.

The time of the SALSA and the FIESTA is nearing its end, as most tunes have dropped out our charts, yet the COOLIE DANCE manages to keep on keepin on. Not only are the Vegas/Wayne Anthony and Beenie Man selections going strong at #7 and #9 but a wicked combination featuring Christini and Delly Ranks finally gets some well-deserved attention at #13. The HYPE Elephant, Kiprich, Twista & Young Bloodz combo "Jook Gal" on the COOLIE DANCE also just got on board this time around. The energy god also teams up with Sasha and Big Tigger on the "Cock Up Your Bumper Remix" at #18. TOK's "Gal U A Lead" is back with a vengeance, enjoying increasing popularity.

A few hardcore riddims are waiting in the wings. The KRAZY HYPE has been re-named FRENCH VANILLA (whaaaat???) while Rennaissance's TUNDA CLAP also sounds excellent. Many of these new creations are very fast for the vibe out here though, which is why South Rakka's new, exciting and VERY danceable RED ALERT may do best in New Mexico outta the bunches of upcoming beats.

Until next time, keep supporting dancehall music !!!
