updated June 20, 2005

Donovan "Vendetta" Corleon is running things in NM in May with two different
riddims. Last month's #1 dropped down to #3 and a brand-new Beenie Man on
the red-hot JONKANOO riddim has taken over. While we're still awaiting the
APPLAUSE to hit, the JONKANOO has conquered NM on the air-waves & in the
dancehalls alike. It is no surprise to find no less than 5 tunes on the riddim in this month's top 20 alone. Don Corleon's roots selection, the DROP LEAF is still going strong as well with 2 tracks on the current chart and quite a number of others just bubblin under.

Due to the more current tracks, the KOPA also refuses to quiet down out this way, as evident by the likes of Bounty (at #10), Sean Paul (at #12) and Tami Chin (at #15). Next bad bashment riddim comes on the Ghetto Youths label. Don't know the name of this one (could just be a one-pop at this point) but the Damian Marley plus girl track is murder and so is the riddim, so how
bout a few more songs on the beat, youths? It's on the flipside of Junior Gong's "Welcome To Jamrock", which is HUGE out here & the hype of which was only pushed further by his live-performance in NM in May. Looking for this one to still hit the jackpot out here.... Gibbo's HARD TIMES riddim is hitting hard as well, with I-Wayne, Capleton, Luciano & Bascom X doing the honors. Christopher Birch's MILITARY with Macka Diamond & the sweet voice of Mister Easy, together with the heavyweight tag-team combination of Lady Saw & Remi Martin (on a re-worked version of the TIAJUANA beat) close things out this time around.

Tons of new material on the way (as usual). Looking forward to Snowcone's
APPLAUSE, Birch's MY SWING (hallelujah!), Gibbo's HARD DRUGS and a few cuts
of South Rakkas new BIONIC RAS also sound promising! Until such time:
