Yow! As we hit the month of August, South Rakkas' RED ALERT riddim has taken the pole-position in New Mexico. TOK's "Let It Shine" is top-a-top, while entries from Capleton (at #3), the Papichulo Crew (at #8),Cecile (at #10) Vybez Cartel (#12), Zumjay (#17) and Bajie Man alongside Ninja Kid (#20) follow to complete its dominance. A superb pice of music again, so big ups to Dennis "Dow Jones" Shaw to keep it at the higher level.

Tony Matterhorn's SCOOBAY has finally hit New Mexico in the form of his combo with Stone Love selecta Richie Feelings. Speaking of selectors, Metromedia's Sky Juice also charts with his dance-anthem "Dance Moves" on Annex' SUMMER BOUNCE. Expect plenty more from both riddims in the future and
check out our reviews & ratings in the review-section. On the BLACKOUT Vybez Cartel's "K.I.S.S.I.N.G." dropped from #2 to #6 while Sean Paul fell 11 spots (from #5 to #16). Black Shadow's CHING CHONG finally made a dent in the New Mexico dancehalls due to Rehka's excellent "Good To Go", otherwise I'm a bit disappointed with the beat. Good tunes but the beat nuh really mek it. Still no worthy follow-up
to the BUZZ (although SURPRISE and CHING CHONG are by no means bad, yet they
set an even higher standard with classics as "Gimme The Light").

On the rootical tip, 2 Miles WHY WORRY returns with a vengeance, pushing
Natty King's "Dont Bring Your Guns To Town" back up to #7, while veteran
Junior Moore (of the Tamlins) represents the title-track. The DOCTORS
DARLING also makes a come-back with the same old Degree/Tanya Stephens
controversy and a tuff, new contribution from Turbulence. Richie Spice is
still holding up the rootsman's torch with his ever-lasting "Earth A Run
Red" as well.

Of course the COOLIE DANCE remains quite popular, as it continues at # 2 and
#4. Bubblin under are tons of hardcore dancehall riddims as COOL FUSION,
BLUE STEEL and GRINDIN, while there still seems to be little of exceptional
interest on the rootical front, aside from DUB FIRE from the Basque Dub
Foundation/Heartical Crew outta France.

Til next month: keep the faith:
